“Umair

I couldn’t imagine a better way to start the year on my blog: four resolutions to have a year that counts, inspired by the latest article just published by Umair Haque on HBR blog.

Umair Haque is a London-based consultant and author of “Betterness: Economics for Humans” and “The New Capitalist Manifesto: Building a Disruptively Better Business”, he is considered one of the world's most influential management thinkers by Thinkers50. He is also a contributor at the Harvard Business Review and Director of Havas Media Labs.

I am a huge fan of him: I’ve read his books and I follow him for more than three years now. What’s so special in his latest article?

Probably I found his article interesting because he’s suggesting “to be the person we were put here to become” instead of running after more elaborate sub folders structures on our Outlook. Or probably because for the first time I haven’t started the year with rational objectives, but with the firm intention of pursuing my personal and professional dream. I think that while dreaming, it's better to dream big!

Or probably I liked the article because I do agree that “suffering is so intimately connected with what makes life worth living” that I am not afraid to suffer. I surely love the last two resolutions that help us create a year that counts: "seek the mystery inside the truth, not the truth inside the mystery" and "let you happen".

I can't really tell you what's special in his post, but something I do know, is that to make this year a greater one I just have to keep in mind “the question isn’t if I am going to die. It’s whether I am going to live.”

Thank you Umair!
