Happy Birthday
I was inspired to write this post and to publish it on my birthday, the 29 of August, when I read “Happy Birthday” by Seth Godin in which he explains why since five years, he decided to donate his birthday date to charity: water.
Every year 3 Million people die because of contaminated water.
Every day 1,400 children between 0 and 5 years die for diseases from contaminated water.
We can only draw the conclusion that the water crisis is above all a problem of Love and Justice we can’t afford to delegate to anybody and that we have to learn to apply these two universal principles, through initiatives such as the charity: water campaigns. The water crisis is not a tragedy of few unlucky regions on Earth, it's a global problem which concerns the whole world.
The solution of the water crisis will help the UN reaching the 8 Millennium Development Goals for 2015 because, did you know that clean water reduces child mortality and poverty, improves maternal health and education, empowers women, promote sustainable development? Clean water does all that and much more.
The goal of my birthday campaign on charity: water is to collect $350 that would eventually help 12 people.
It doesn’t sound like a lot, but believe me: for those few people your help will change their lives, with your help they will start to live and will stop to exist.

Donating creates a much deeper joy, a much greater happiness and a much stronger connection than just receiving.
Think when Gandhi once said “be the change you want to see in the world” and think that fighting against the water crisis helps us to become the change we wish to see around us.

Are you still thinking how you can help? I can tell you that you can do an awful lot of things, for example you can:
- donate for my birthday campaign and help me to reach at least $350,
- spread this post around your beloved, your closest friends and contacts,
- create your own campaign,
- contact me directly to create our own campaign so as to reach a broadest community.
For my birthday, please make this gift to yourself: feel and live the joy of the people that for the first time will have clean water thanks to your help.
S O M A N Y T H A N K S !!
P.S.: did you hear the great news? Earlier this year the number of people without clean water dropped for the first time from 748 Million to 663 Million. There is still a long way to go, of course, but it proves that we are on the right path.
Earlier this year, #748million people didn’t have clean water. Today, that number is officially #663million. pic.twitter.com/jnZu3f08t7
